Is this a good work from home set up?

Is this a good work from home set up?

Interior magazines often have articles on creating a work from home space, but the pictures that they feature are often very pretty spaces but aren't the best if you actually need to work at home all day.

So we are here to debunk some myths, and to point out a few things to avoid when setting up your work from home area.

1. Sitting on a wooden chair

Wooden chairs might look very beautiful, but your bottom won't thank you if you sit on one all day.  There is a reason that office chairs have padding, and it's down to comfort.  Sitting for 8 hours a day on a plank of wood will leave you wishing for the office again.

Plus wooden chairs don't normally have any height adjustment, so the chances are you'll be sitting at the wrong height which will make your shoulders and neck ache as well.

So avoid this interiors trend at all cost.

2. Avoid desks with thick tops

The thought of having storage in your desk is appealing, think very carefully about where it is on the desk.  If you have drawers that run underneath the desk top, there won't be room for your legs when you adjust the chair to the right height (well possibly if you have exceptionally slim legs).

So it's best to avoid storage under the desktop, and stick to a standard desktop such as the one on our Cade home office desk
